Privacy Policy
This page explains what Markdown Studio does and does not do with information, based on how the application actually works today.
Summary
- No account, sign-in or contact form exists. The application does not collect your name, email address or other personal details.
- Your Markdown is processed in your browser. The application has no server component that receives your document text.
- Style settings (not your document) are saved in your browser’s local storage.
- The application does not currently include analytics, tracking or advertising scripts.
Information we collect
Markdown Studio does not ask you for personal information and does not collect any through the application itself. Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider that handles the technical requests described under “Hosting and server logs” below.
How your documents are processed
- Text you type, paste or upload is read, rendered, previewed and exported by code running in your browser. Uploaded files are read locally and are not sent anywhere by the application.
- The exports (PDF print layout, Word, HTML, Markdown) are all produced in your browser. For PDF, the application opens your browser’s print dialog; saving a PDF is then done by your browser or operating system.
- Your document is kept in memory only. It is not written to local storage and is gone when you close or reload the page, unless you downloaded it.
- Exception — images: if your Markdown references an image by
https://address, your browser requests it directly from that third-party website, which can see your IP address and ordinary request information. Word export also asks your browser to download such images so they can be embedded. Embeddeddata:images stay in your browser.
Cookies and local storage
- The application does not set cookies.
- It stores your document style settings and any presets you save in your browser’s local storage, under the keys
markdown-studio:styleandmarkdown-studio:presets. This stays on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser or by using “Reset all settings” and deleting your presets in the application.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers static assets). To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and may keep logs under its own policies. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. The application itself does not add analytics scripts to the pages.
Search engines
The site owner uses Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google Search. This is done through a verification tag in the page source and through Google’s own tools; it does not run tracking code in your browser.
Advertising
Currently: Markdown Studio does not display advertisements and does not load any advertising scripts or advertising cookies.
Possible future change: the site owner may apply for an advertising program such as Google AdSense in the future. Nothing in this paragraph means that ads are active or that any application has been approved. If advertising is added, this policy will be updated before ads appear to describe the advertising partners, the cookies or similar technologies they use, and the choices available to you (including personalized versus non-personalized ads and any consent prompt that may be required in your region).
Third-party technologies
The application is built with open-source libraries that run in your browser and uses only system fonts. It does not load external scripts or fonts. Links and images that you include in your own Markdown point to third-party sites that have their own privacy practices.
Your choices
- Do not include remote image addresses if you do not want your browser to contact those hosts.
- Clear local storage or use the reset controls to remove saved settings.
- Use your browser’s privacy features to control cookies and tracking.
Children
The service is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated if the application’s data practices change — for example if analytics or advertising are introduced. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
